The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Founded by the Venerable Father Michael J McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1882, it was named in honor of the mariner Christopher Columbus. Originally serving as a mutual benefit society to low-income immigrant Catholics, it developed into a fraternal benefit society dedicated to providing charitable services, promoting Catholic education and actively defending Catholicism in various nations.
There are more than 1.85 million members in nearly 15,000 councils, with nearly 200 councils on college campuses. Membership is limited to practicing Catholic men aged 18 or older. Membership consists of four different degrees, each exemplifying a different principle of the Order.
Our Council of over 350 members, meets in O'Connell Hall at Saint George Parish, located at 6707 W 175th street in Tinley Park, Illinois. Our meetings are held on the first and third Thursdays of the month at 7:30 p.m.

Comedy Night is coming!
Enjoy the night with Comedians Jake Hovis, Matt Somerfield, and Mike Maxwell Where: St. George O'Connell Hall 6700 W 176th Street Tinley Park When: Saturday February 8th, 2025 Time: Doors open at 6:30pm Dinner 7:00pm Show starts: 8:00pm Cost: $55.00 per person. This is Matt! A champion of clean, slapstick & physical comedy, Matt performs at several clubs including Zanies, The Comedy Vault, Eastville Comedy Club (NYC), and more!
Matt is a member of the CCA (Christian Comedian Association). He is an alumni of the American Comedy Institute (NYC) where he has trained with renowned comedy teacher & founder Stephen Rosenfield.

Mike Maxwell is a Chicago area comedian, writer, and actor. His comedy style is an upbeat level of sarcasm and emotion covering many personal moments the audience may have experienced as well. His debut comedy album ‘Wait it out!’ released in 2024.
Outside of stand up comedy, Mike is a writer, producer and performer whose work has appeared at Chicago Sketchfest, Laughfest, and Fringe Festival. |
